The Cowboys have had a fair share of injuries during training camp.

John Phillips suffered a season-ending knee injury. Dez Bryant and Marcus Spears are iffy to play at all in the preseason because of ankle and knee injuries. Martellus Bennett has a balky ankle.

When Jason Witten was on the ground for a few extra seconds Sunday morning after he was rolled up on a running play, executive vice president Stephen Jones admitted he was holding his breath.

"That's the toughest part of this game, in my opinion, the injury deal," Jones said. "That's the one thing that is so difficult to deal with. You work so hard to get everybody out there. These guys work so hard to put themselves in a position to have a good team and then to have your fate in the hands of the injury situation is tough. But that's the game we play. It's real and it happens all the time. You ready about one every day, a key player going down for every team. That's why you get depth and do the best you can but when you have what we think is a great player at some position, you can't get replacements. Those guys don't grow on trees."
