Comedian Patrice O’Neal died Monday night after suffering a stroke in late October, his friends confirm.

He was 41.

The “Opie and Anthony” radio show, where O’Neal was a frequent guest, confirmed the sad news on Twitter Tuesday.

"Yes it's true that our pal Patrice O'Neal has passed away. The funniest and best thinker I've ever known PERIOD. #devastated" host Opie tweeted.

O’Neal, a long-time fixture in the New York comedy scene, was a diabetic.

Comedian Jim Norton was the first to reveal the initial news of O’Neal’s stroke two months ago.

"We don't know how he is. We don't know how he's going to be,” Norton said of his friend on the radio show. “I didn't want to do this by myself. I wish we had more news for you."

The comedian's last TV performance was at the “Comedy Central Roast of Charlie Sheen” that aired in September.
