Broncos' Maroney arrested in St. Louis

Denver Broncos running back Laurence Maroney was arrested in St. Louis Monday night on weapon and drug charges, KMOV-TV reported.
According to the report, the 25-year-old tailback and three other men were pulled over by police, though the reason is unclear. Maroney was reportedly released after being charged with unlawful use of a weapon and unspecified drug offenses.
Maroney was traded this past season by the Patriots, who drafted him 21st overall in2006. Maroney starred at Normandy High School in St. Louis before going on to the University of Minnesota.
Maroney's best season was with the undefeated 2008 Patriots, when he rushed for 835 yards and six touchdowns. He only played in three games with Denver this season, rushing for 74 yards on 36 carries.
