Where? What I said was, they would probably put Romobama in the RoH before Bates, and that would be criminal.you called him a legend

Hey Man, it's been quoted everywhere. He said it.I seriously doubt that.
We are talking about RoH credentials here and Bates is IN the top ten for Dallas Cowboys safeties. How good was he for his position league-wide?

It doesn't, but Tasker was a similar special teams demon who didn't have a real position. Actually as I remember Tasker was a decent 4th-5th WR, better than Bates anyway. No, but does it have to be a white comparison? How good was he for his position league-wide?
If Bill Bates isn't THE embodiment of the Cowboys, who is? I put him right up there with Bob Lilly as far as off the field character goes. He is a honorable man and always was.so he was "THE embodiment of the Cowboys" but not a legend?

Bates sucked as a safety. He just wasn't athletic enough, though he was crazy and reckless enough to be good running down and hitting people. Can't really think of a huge special teams star now... Who would that be?
He had a knack for being in the right place at the right time, exactly when you needed him. If he sucked as a safety, Jimmy wouldn't be playing him as a safety! You know more than Jimmy Johnson and Tom Landry?Bates sucked as a safety. He just wasn't athletic enough, though he was crazy and reckless enough to be good running down and hitting people.
Well yeah, look at the frikkin names ON that list!Boy, he barely made the list.

You already said you wouldn't have a problem with Bates in the RoH and I never called him a "Legend" although he has won several Legends awards including the "Tom Landry Legend" award back in 2011.
I didn't say it did. His entire FIFTEEN YEAR career in Dallas, does. You keep saying that, but that doesn't buy him a ticket into the ROH.

I didn't and wouldn't use that terminology. But I wouldn't pitch a fit about someone using it either.so you would have disagreed with Hos when he called him the "legendary Bill Bates," right?

You could at least spell them all right.I can name the rest of the ROH of you would like.
