Analyts question Dez Bryant's conditioning and adjustments

Notes from Sunday's TV broadcasts:

ESPN studio analysts Cris Carter and Merril Hoge took a moment to call out Dez Bryant. Carter, a former receiver: "Michael Irvin and Jerry Rice were the best-conditioned wide receivers in the NFL. As a wide receiver, you should be the best-conditioned guy on the field. Dez Bryant is not that." Hoge: "Dez Bryant doesn't adjust to [defensive] adjustments."

Game analyst Daryl Johnston proved dead on when for most of the first half he warned that Cowboys early dominance did not provide enough points. Johnston also mentioned that the Cowboys-Redskins series has produced some jarring upsets. He pointed out that the Cowboys' lone victory of the 1989 season came in the ninth game against a Redskins team that would finish 10-6.

The fixation with sideline camera shots of Cowboys defensive coordinator Rob Ryan reached epic proportions against the Redskins. Most, however, were complemented by shots of Redskins offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan.

Hall controlled the shit out of Dez when Dez caught that touchdown in the first quarter.

Also, I think it had more to do with Romo playing a controlled game and not trying to force anything down the field. He was happy to check down all game long.

Looked like they were playing zone on that touchdown and the safety was a little late getting over

They didn't control him at all. Aside from the plays he did make, he could have had a huge game if Romo had thrown him decent passes on a couple plays where he was open. The slant in the red zone is one that sticks out, where the throw was at his ankles, and also the deep middle route where Dez ran a double move and split the safety and CB and was open if Romo put the pass on him instead of at his feet again. He could have easily had 7 or 8 catches and been over 100 yards with possibly another TD as well. It definitely wasn't getting open that was the problem for Dez though.

Im not blaming Tony, just saying there were some oppertunities there that we missed. It happens sometimes. I don't have a problem with the slant being thrown. If it was a good pass Dez would have caught it with a chance to break a tackle or two and score.
