But you wonder if Andy Jones is really outplaying guys like Street or if it's just another camp hype story. Don't get me wrong, I've always thought Street was nothing, so it wouldn't take a lot to beat him out. But every year we hear about these guys supposedly making plays and when the preseason games start, they're just another spare.

As for Butler, there's a reason the Raiders let him go for nothing. Lately this team has focused on the physically talented athlete types, but other teams see that talent just as much as we do. When they let players like that go, there's usually a good reason for it.

Has street been here four years?

Butler they keep just because of size/speed and he flashed last year with some decent big plays.

My mistake, this will be Street's 3rd year not 4th. That's still plenty of time to see he plays like hot garbage.

The preseason will determine if Butler makes the team. Jones doesn't have Butler's speed but he's stronger, and has better hands. When Dez had the day off a few days ago Andy Jones was given the chance to run with the 1st team. Whichever of the two has the better preseason will likely be the 5th WR.

That's assuming Eagan wants to sign on to the practice squad.

I wouldn't blame him for being a little bitter about this because he originally agreed to sign with the Bills before Garrett, having 'coached' him at the Senior Bowl, persuaded him to change his mind.

That was a pretty shitty move by Garrett as he must have known there was little chance Eagan would make the 53 with Beasley and Whitehead already here. Just another camp body I suppose.

Good grief.

This kind of stuff happens all the time for all 32 teams.

Street has been hurt again and not practicing. Even when he was, he was never getting reps with the 1's like Jones did.

It's only practice but basically every day you can read stuff about how Jones has stood out and then there's also the comments that Romo has a ton of confidence in him, but so far Jones has def opened eyes.

Street is gone barring a slew of injuries or him having the preseason of his life.

Ive not seen Romo's comments on Jones. But the last UDFA's I remember him talking highly about were Miles and Cole, so that's a good thing if true.

No I dislike the loser and cant wait for him to retire. Hopefully after another back injury this season. But he called our last two productive receivers right, so if he's speaking highly of Jones then it bodes well for Jones.

I'm not that critical of the guy. He's not given much to work with and he's the only reason I can even stand to watch this team. It'll be interesting when the wheels fall off though.

I agree if he's done because of injury. I'm actually waiting to see him play and just not have "it" any longer. It's happened to the best of them. I thought I started to see him tail off when his back was giving him problems. He's lost a lot of zip on the ball and he never had a whole lot of it to begin with.

I was a big time Romo fan since his first start in Carolina in 2006. I loved how it didn't matter how long third down was, we'd convert. And I've been one of his biggest supporters over the years.

But Garrett is a garbage head coach. I literally think he's right there with Campo as far as utter uselessness on game days. I have grown to hate everything about Garrett and truly, honestly, unequivocally believe he's the biggest thing holding this team back from winning a Championship under the Romo era.

And since Romo wants to throw his support behind such a shit coach, then it shows me Romo is a beta male who is comfortable with losing and I just have zero respect for him.

I'm ready for this Garrett/Romo era to be over like I wanted the Campo/Quincy era to end.

I don't even care who the next coach is, or who the next QB will be. Once these guys leave, I will once again be excited about football seasons and the potential of this team. As it currently is, I'm resigned to hating the organization and taking pleasure in their failures.

Romo is a ra-ra, we-can-do-it guy.

Criticizing him for snot being critical of Garrett or Wade is stupid (Midswat). As is, thinking his praise of someone matters (dbair). He is going to say positive things, it's who he is.

Sorry but Mid is right about this. Romo can do/say the right things publicly and be a team/positive guy all he wants then, but behind closed doors with Jerry and Steven he should absolutely be on the level about things, and it is readily apparently from Jones' action with Garrett that Romo's discussions behind the scenes about Garrett mirror what he says publicly.

Jones is and always has been 100% bought in on Romo. Romo has been coached by Garrett every day for 9 years now. Almost everyone agrees Garrett is not a good HC, except the person who matters most to Jones (Romo). If Romo had been telling Jones that he wanted better coaching or he was walking/refusing to sign extensions/refusing to restructure deals there is absolutely no doubt in my mind that Jones would have fired Garrett by now. But Romo didn't. He tells Jones he loves Garrett so Jones keeps Garret employed.
