Here's a scenario for you. Garrett gets canned this year and Jerry replaces him with a newly promoted Wade Wilson.

Dream scenario is Jerry's senile-ism will kick in to overdrive and Stephen decides to hire Jim Harbaugh and gives him complete control over the roster.

How confident is GM Jerry that they got a decent QB of the future in Dak fucking Prescott?

He apparently is already admitting he should have overpaid to ensure they got the deal done to get Paxton Lynch.

Lost in the hoopla the other night was the little tidbit that apparently they first tried to get the Bills to trade down from 19 (am assuming they thought like many that the Jets would take Lynch). The Bills were apparently holding out for something more in the 2017 draft. We said no, and didn't make the move.

First pick: Ezekiel Elliott, RB, Ohio State (No. 4)

Other notable picks: Jaylon Smith, LB, Notre Dame (34); Maliek Collins, DT, Nebraska (67); Dak Prescott, QB, Mississippi State (135)

If Smith is able to return from the knee issues that now hamper his NFL future, this is a lead-pipe A+. He was the best player in this class, and the Cowboys took a manageable risk in spending their second-round pick on him. There’s no question that Elliott will help the Dallas offense return to form. Fourth overall is a high pick for a back, but Elliott does it all and does it well. Collins is a bit of a project, but he’s a good athlete who will vie for a rotational slot early on. Oklahoma defensive end Charles Tapper is a more developed player who will be an asset against the run, with pass rush as a bonus attribute. Prescott is a big, mobile quarterback who has shown a lot of mental development over time, and he’s in the perfect situation to continue to grow—as long as Tony Romo stays healthy.​

Tapper is a tweener. Smallish DE who can play some snaps at DT. Good news is he extremely athletic. Seems like part of our new fascination with SPARQ guys.

I actually really like Lynch but I agree overpaying for Lynch would have been worse than. It getting Lynch at all. I actually really like some of our picks. I thought they wasted the 2nd pick but liked that they loaded up on the DL. I really wanted Billings though.

Obviously we will see how Dak does this coming season but I have a feeling Jerry is going to go hard after a QB next draft. In the 1st round. What sucks is that I've heard it's a weaker class. I don't know for myself, that's just what I've heard.

I just read your post after saying I think Jerry is going to go HARD after a QB next draft.

Just like he did with RB this year. I think he got a better deal at RB though by waiting until this year.
