Yet anytime someone says he would be getting in as a career special-teamer you bring up that he was "A TOP TIN ALL TIMEZ SAFETEEZ!".

You're a parody of yourself now.

Haley would be the exception to the rule. He was an elite player for us and a pivotal reason we won three titles while he was here. We were infinity better with Haley. The same can't be said about Bates.
Haley was the last piece of Jimmy's puzzle, that's certain.

I'll do cartwheels when Phil Pozderac gets inducted

Wasn't he the guy who single handedly lost us the 2nd NYG game in 1986? I think that was the game Danny White got hurt. IIRC the Poz had 3 or 4 holding calls that day, several of which wiped out huge plays.

Most people don't even realize Haley managed just 10 sacks TOTAL in two seasons (92 & 93). I think his 93 season was the first one here where he really struggled with the bad back. He bounced back with a pretty big 1994 season but the back question marks are what led the Cowboys to take Shante Carver (after failing to get the trade up deal done for Willie McGinest)

I think it was the Denver game in 1992 where Jimmy ripped Haley out at half time and threatened to cut him too.

Jimmy even says in his book, Haley was the final piece of the puzzle needed.

Remember when he retired and went to work for a holding company? Seriously. Laffs for days.

I am not denying he wasn't a huge add.

But some act like the guy got 21 sacks a season here, and he didn't.
Part of Haley's effectiveness was fear. Teams had to double team him and had to account for him on every play. Even when not 100%. No telling how many sacks by other Cowboys, this caused.

Same deal with Bill. Teams had to double and sometimes even triple team him, had to account for him, and had to run scout teams for him in practice. Yes, they used valuable practice time working on stopping Bates.

No, this has been mostly opinion.
This is 100% fact: Teams had to double and sometimes even triple team him, had to account for him, and had to run scout teams for him in practice. Yes, they used valuable practice time working on stopping Bates.
