I got no problems admitting it.

I liked the move on draft day. Willing to admit it was a major fail...of epic proportions

Not only is the guy a bust for being a top 10 pick...but we also lost a 2nd rounder...big time miss

We have holes on both sides of the line and we trade our 2nd round pick for this guy. Then we draft a TE and WR in rounds 2 and 3 next year.

No wonder this team sucks ass.

It's a process. Shut your mouth Mr. Negativity. We still have a small chance of going one game over five hundred and winning the division because it is the worst in football. What more do you want?

What kind of a process is this?

Is it one of those processes where you're stuck in the mud and just spinning your tires trying to get out all the while making a bigger hole?

Cowboys CB Morris Claiborne has lost his starting job to Orlando Scandrick.
Claiborne is only in his second NFL season, but he has the look of a bust. Working as the third corner, he got lit up by Keenan Allen in Sunday's loss to the Chargers. Claiborne is PFF's No. 99 corner of 101 qualifiers so far this season and was 83rd among 113 qualifiers last year. "He's just got to play better, and he will play better," coach Jason Garrett said.

Ouch. 2nd highest rated player since Deion, rated higher than Patrick Peterson...99th out of 101 ?

Claiborne is not the bum we are making him out to be but he is nowhere near the god Jerry proclaimed him. Peterson is by far the superior player. To make comments like that just shows how football ignorant our "braintrust" is.

My guess is this is all part of the disfunctional structure of our personnel department. If I'm wrong and Jerry really is just relying on and trusting Ciskowski's (and the scouting staff's) assessments then someone should be fired.

That just makes the trade really bad since we gave up the chance to acquire two players who in all likelihood would be starters...and significant contributors. (Brockers and that LB)

In fairness, I do think dbair is right when that was later clarified to "best ball skills" since Deion. But still.

I wasn't terribly against the pick if he really was as good as claimed, and although I'd seen LSU a few times I hadn't really watched him that closely. But I was concerned about his athletic ability, which wasn't exceptional. Usually the best corners and the ones taken at the top of the draft are primo athletes.

IRVING, Texas -- There has been only one defensive back ranked higher on the Dallas Cowboys draft boards than Morris Claiborne: Hall of Famer Deion Sanders.

Sanders was the Atlanta Falcons' fifth overall pick from Florida State in the 1989 draft.

Thursday night, when the Cowboys discussed making a trade for Claiborne with the St. Louis Rams, team scouts told owner/general manager Jerry Jones only one man had higher grades.

Sanders.

"Deion was special with his burst," Jones said. "But certainly he is the best they have graded for us since Deion. That would have included Deion after he came in here. Deion had the highest touchdown-per-touch of any player in NFL history."
Claiborne's high-grade was also higher than Terence Newman, who was the Cowboys' first-round pick, fifth overall in 2003.

Last year, LSU's Patrick Peterson was the highest graded corner coming out of the draft, but Jones said Claiborne's grade was better than his.

Claiborne said he compares himself, not to Sanders or Peterson but to the New York Jets' Darrelle Revis.

"He’s on that level where not too many of the guys are doing the things that he’s doing and I believe I can be that type of player also," Claiborne said.

Now regarding Brockers. We may still be in the bind that we're in as far as Dline players getting winded since we probably don't sign Hayden in the offseason, but still.

At this point, all we can hope for is that Claiborne reaches at least DeAngelo Hall status. Even that isn't looking so hot.

He is such a fucking dumb ass.

Holes all across the board and he trades a 2nd rounder for a lousy cornerback who he claims is the next Deion. I want to shoot him in the fucking face.

The only solace I take from this is the 2nd rounder probably would have been a stupid tight end.
