JONES EARNS BIG 12 HONOR
Landry Jones, who spearheaded the Sooners' 47-17 win over Florida State last Saturday, has been named the Big 12 Conference's Offensive Player of the Week. Jones completed 30-of-40 passes for 380 yards, four touchdowns and no interceptions against the 17th-ranked Seminoles.
The sophomore threw for 321 yards in the first half alone, the second-highest one-half total in school history. Sam Bradford threw for 350 against North Texas in 2007. It marked the second consecutive week that an Oklahoma player won one of the conference's weekly honors. Punter Tress Way was named co-special teams player of the week after the season opener.
