Who will the Eagles hire for head coach next year?

Eagles are already dead. Fat Andy is on the way out. Everyone knows Vick won't get that big bonus, so they're going to be starting over at QB anyway. Might as well get a fresh start with a new HC.

So who do you think they might get at HC? Do you think they'll make a comeback as a team, or will they be down for a while?

For some reason I wonder if Rob Ryan might be a candidate. Wonder if they'd go for a guy like Holmgren, with him using the same offense.

They will hire Jason Garrett.

Because he will be unemployed.

Because we will fire him.

Get it?

I think Cowher makes sense, especially since Lurie is willing to give his HC power. And we know he'll spend big.

I think Peter King or whoever mentioned Payton to Philly over Dallas was completely wrong though. If Jerry grew a pair and decided to can Ginger, there's no way that he'd lose a bidding war for Payton. Especially against a hated division rival. This isn't the Nnamdi situation. I doubt Payton would want to go there anyway since they have no QB assurances. Payton will pick between Romo and Brees only.

No way we could be that fortunate.

I disagree with this.

The level of rancor/vitriol is at an all-time high right now. Ginger supporters are in the quiet minority.

No one respectable has stood up for Ginger in weeks. His orange ass has been getting slammed nationally. Even Jimmy Johnson has changed his tone.

If the team doesn't finish 6-2 or better, then I don't believe Jerry will have a choice.

Dude, you know that Jerry has shown a history of doing whatever the hell he pleases. It will have to get way more obvious than this for him to drop his wonder boy.

Cowher to Philly makes sense. It'll be weird not seeing fat Andy roam the Eagles sidelines.

As far as Sean Payton, I don't see him leaving the Saints but if he does and Jerry fire's Jason, he'll be the perfect fit for us

Cowher. Oh yeah, that guy. He's completely dropped off the map, hasn't he?

Two weeks ago, I would've said that Todd Bowles, their secondary coach promoted to interim DC would get serious consideration. But since that defense isn't responding to him either, that isn't going to happen.

I actually don't think it'll be a big name like Cowher, Gruden, or a Mariucci. Probably a talented up and coming assistant. I can't think of any names though.

Very interesting concept. Andy Reid has had our number for years. It'll be good to see him out of the division for once.

I meant fortunate that Philly would hire him.

I think Payton is our one hope. Werder is best buds with him and says he thinks Sean would come here for his kids and for the prestige of the job. Also said if he's a free agent, Jerry will go after him.

Jerry would not pursue Payton. No need to. He already has a coach who is better than Payton. And yes, I know my saying this will get some peoples panties in a bunch.

Not sure how "prestigious" this job is anymore, but I do think the family factor and Romo will at least keep Dallas in the discussion.

As a fan, it's really the last thread of hope left if you want this core to have any success. Or else wait another 20-70 years for them to assemble another core.

Also, someone needs to explain to jerry that Tom Landry and Lombardi had lots of success working together with the Giants before they got their own coaching gigs. Ginger and Landry have nothing in common.
