I watched a great video "Modern Conflicts: The Yemen Civil War" made a month ago by Real Life Lore. But it's not on their YT channel. I subscribe to the Nebula/Curiosity Streaming service, and that's where I watched it.

Yemen is one of the largest and most important countries in the Middle East. In 2014, the country descended into an initially two-sided civil war between the Shia-adjacent Houthis allegedly supported by Iran, and the largely Sunni government supported by Saudi Arabia. The Saudis eventually intervened in the war alongside an international coalition that is still ongoing today, and which has generated one of the worst humanitarian catastrophes of the 21st-century.

There are choke points, where in an international dispute, the oil from Saudi Arabia could be blocked from getting out to Asia, with Iran the being the chief benefactor.

Ukraine dismissed more than a dozen senior officials including governors of several major battlefield provinces on Tuesday in the biggest shake-up of its wartime leadership since Russia's invasion last year.

Among Ukrainian officials who resigned or were dismissed on Tuesday were the governors of the Kyiv, Sumy, Dnipropetrovsk, Kherson and Zaporizhzhia regions. Kherson, Zaporizhzhia and adjacent Dnipropetrovsk are frontline provinces now. Kyiv and Sumy were major battlefields earlier in the war.

A deputy defence minister, a deputy prosecutor, a deputy head of President Volodymyr Zelenskiy's office and two deputy ministers responsible for regional development were among the others who left.

Some, though not all, had been linked with corruption allegations. Ukraine has a history of graft and shaky governance, and is under international pressure to show it can be a reliable steward of billions of dollars in Western aid.

The level of corruption is insane. Just as it was in Afghanistan when we were pumping money into that country. We should conduct an audit of where US taxpayer dollars go. But they won't becauause the corruption at home in the US is just as bad on both sides of the isle.

In the last conflict between major powers, in WWII, it was the disruption of supply lines that crippled the Germans and Japan, at home, and, in their forward deployments.

Keeping the supply lines open for the US Military is vital with any extended conflict with a major power over various fronts.
