Let's all step away from sp's pity party and make fun of my doll collection!

and since I'm really a Midswat alt, let's make fun of Midswat's doll collection, I mean action figures.

I can see why those would be cool when a guy is a star... but what do you do with your, say, Bobby Carpenter McFarlane doll?

Luckily, I didn't start commissioning the annual Cowboys 1st round picks until Dez Bryant. Otherwise, I'd be pissed about a crappy Mike Jenkins and Felix Jones figure in my collection as well as Bobby Carpenter.

Why do you collect them? I kind of thought collectables were pointless now because everything was mass produced in such high quantities, plus with so many collectors out there, there's never much of a demand because the supply is so high. Unless you're not collecting them for future monetary value.

I remember in 1992 when I was into sports cards, that was the case. Whereas if you were a collector not even that long ago (1984) some of the cards would be worth a lot of money. I think it was the Topps Michael Jordan rookie card was worth four thousand dollars, where as my 1992 assortment of Shaq rookie cards could barely exceed around $12 max for the best card.

These are customs so it's not really about collecting them for future value. I have a couple of glass diplay cases set up by the bigscreen TV. Just something I like having I guess ?

Big screen tv?

This isn't 1995 anymore cmd. No one cares about your projection television.

I still have a collection of about 8 Shaq rookie cards in a fire proof safe at my mom's house. I've also got Kobe Bryant, Tim Duncan, Barry Bonds, Barry Sanders, and Ken Griffey Jr rookie cards in there.

Worth anything?

I never had any real old cards. I had a shit ton of Emmitt cards though. I have no idea whatever happened to them all, actually.

That sucks. Isn't that from 1979 or 77 or something?

So a mint condition card thats 35 years old and from a Super Bowl winning Hall of Famer is only worth 13?

Meh...
