Tony Romo’s job on Sundays can be made a lot easier if Dez Bryant meets expectations. Entering his third NFL season, Bryant has pleased the Cowboys front office and coaching staff with his improved conditioning and production during organized team activities and mini-camp.

Romo was recently asked for his personal assessment of the 23-year-old wide receiver and responded by saying he can see that Bryant is consistently getting better.

“He just keeps improving and improving. He’s a kid that I enjoy playing with because he wants to get better,” Romo said during an interview that was aired Sunday on CBS 11’s The Blitz. “He’s always asking, ‘Hey Tony, what can I do to be better?’ I love playing with guys like him, Miles (Austin) and these guys. They want to be better themselves and they’re trying to do anything they can to get better.”

“The guys that really want to be great and have that ability to be great, you can’t have enough of those guys,” Romo added. “And we got a few of them. Dez is just a great kid like that. He’s getting better and better every week.”

Bryant said last month that injuries limited him for the majority of the 2011 campaign, a sophomore season that saw him finish with 63 receptions for 928 yards and nine touchdowns. While he improved in every major statistical category from his rookie season, Bryant’s production faded late in several outings and he failed to record a 100-yard game.

The former Oklahoma State standout and first round draft pick, has performed well on the field during OTAs and mini-camp, making several impressive grabs and appearing to be on the same page with his franchise quarterback.

“Dez has had a really good off-season,” Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett said two weeks ago. “He’s working very hard. He’s done a very good in our off-season program in both his lifting and his running and he’s carried that to the field.”

If Dez keeps this up he's in for a monster season. He's got all the physical ability in the world.

I'm hoping Ogletree doesn't make the team. I was high on him post-2009, but I don't think he's a guy who loves football and I think once he gets paid, he'll get lazy again.

Besides, he's on a one year deal whereas Harris and white boy from VT are here for a few years longer.

If Ogletree wins the 3rd job and does well, we're back in the same boat next year trying to figure out who our #3 receiver will be once Ogletree goes to Jacksonville for 40 million.

Brad sham was on the score last night and he insists that the team will find a role of some kind for cole beasley.

he also so dont compare him to walker just because he is short and white!!! said he catches everything and seems to know how to run every route already.....turned heads with the staff apparently......said the same thing about the unt rb dunbar.

Its uploading I will add it to a thread in a few.

I feel the exact same way. I hope he gets cut. It seems like when he first came in here he busted his ass off---like alot of UFDAs, but it just seems apparent that he was only satisfied with just maiking the team. After that, he went into cruise control. I'm rooting for Holmes to be our #3.
