** Players were in full pads for the second time in as many days.

** On the first route of 1-on-1 work, Dez Bryant appeared to hurt his right ankle, while coming down with a deep ball from Stephen McGee after banging together with cornerback Mike Jenkins. Bryant took a few snaps off while he was being examined by heat athletic trainer Jim Maurer. Bryant had his ankle re-taped and did not appear to slow down at all.

** Cletis Gordon and Jamar Wall, who are battling for the No. 4 cornerback job, had some nice work in the one-on-one drills. Gordon intercepted two passes and Wall one. Gordon's best pick came on a deep throw from Matt Nichols to Titus Ryan. As the ball hung a little bit, Gordon closed fast, tipped the ball and grabbed the interception.

** Unable to come up with a deep ball while being covered by Jenkins, Patrick Crayton angrily kicked the ball into the stands. One enterprising fan attempted to track it down in a section closed to the public and had to give it back to the team.

**Leonard Davis opened the one-on-one blocking drills by thwarting nose tackle Jay Ratliff with just his right hand. It was an impressive show of strength by one Pro Bowler on another Pro Bowler.

** It looks like the interior defensive linemen are doing a good job of reading their counterparts on the other side when they get top heavy or are slow to pick up their heads. Marcus Spears and Junior Siavii were able to use a pair of swim moves to get by Pat McQuistan and Andre Gurode respectively.

** The player of the day might be second-year tight end John Phillips. With Martellus Bennett recovering from a sprained ankle, Phillips has received more work. He caught six passes in team and seven-on-seven drills.

** Crayton had perhaps the best block of the day, cracking down on outside linebacker Brandon Williams on a Felix Jones' run wide to the left. That block allowed Doug Free to pull outside and give Jones even more of an alley to pick up yards.

** On a throw to Jason Witten, Tony Romo did a good job of lying with his eyes. By looking even a little to his left he was able to nudge Brooking a little wide than the linebacker wanted and open up a lane for a pass to Witten.

** Breaking down the quarterbacks' numbers in seven-on-seven and team drills: Romo was 18-of-20, Jon Kitna was 12 of 14 and Stephen McGee was 2 of 7.

** David Buehler did some kick off work on Monday. The NFL leader in touchbacks last year, Buehler sent one kick to the goal line, one to the 6 and one to the 7. He did have good hang time on the kicks. If he serves as the field goal guy too, it will be interesting to see how that affects his kickoffs.

** ** While he is being overshadowed by Marion Baber and Felix Jones early in camp, Tashard Choice showed some good vision on back to back carries on inside run drills to both sides.

** NBC analyst Rodney Harrison was at Monday's practice, as was UT-San Antonio coach Larry Coker and his staff.

I still think Cletus Gordon makes this team. I know it was against Nichols and Ryan, but he knows Wades scheme.
