There's no question that our shitty run game isn't doing him any favors...but being ranked #25 in completion % in the RZ is a fucking joke.

I don't know what it is, but Romo definitely isn't very good with a short field. Seems like a lot of his TDs in the RZ are off of scramble plays...

This is definitely one area that needs to be solved if this team wants to win more games.

Having an interior OL that couldn't stop a slight breeze has a lot to do with it.

Throw in an inept playcaller and he's doomed from the get go.

Yeti was spotted once also.

It's been so long that the footage of a successful back corner fade would look just as grainy.

I remember one throw to Bennett, Bennett went up like it was going to be a fade, but had to almost suspend himself in mid air as the ball just floated down.

^^^ Lolol. That one was bad.

Funny that you mention that play. Any time romo and fades come up, that's the first play I think of

Whenever Romo throws a fade, it seems like the football enters the area between time and space. It just looks weird.

It's a good thing the Red Headed ****** won't be calling plays anymore. He can't spot trends to save his life.

I put this on Red more than Romo. No running game and especially no running game when it matters. They can't get the hard yards. Shorten the field and it eliminates the things the offense does do well.

Wonder how many of the TDs were scored outside of the 20? (Might be in that link, didn't look yet)

We always drove down the field when Romo took control of the offense.

He can make the back shoulder throw like a champ. The fade is an overrated play. It almost never works.

Agreed. I hate that friggin' play. Doesn't matter who is throwing it. Romo, Aikman, Montana, Marino, Jesus, Manning... Doesn't matter. Hate it.

It's almost like it's a giveup play. Hope for the pass interference call.

That was my first thought, too. What was the game late in the year at the very end of the game where Romo threw two perfect ones, one (both?) to Harris... They were basically indefensible.

Watch T-Will. He shows a knack for these kinds of catches right on the boundary. He even had one in the minicamps.

Week 16? We played the Saints and he hit one to Harris for a TD and one to Austin that he caught on his knees. Harris's was at 3:35 left in the 4th and Austin's was with 15 seconds left.

they plays you're thinking of were more of the back shoulder fade variety

Yeah, that's what we were talking about. I'm with those who don't like the fade at all. Seems like too much of a throw it up and hope play.

Yea, Romo leaves a lot to be desired as a redzone QB.

Not only does he suck at the corner fade, he also sucks at the throwing the quick back shoulder pass at the goal line. We've had some pretty big targets in recent years - Owens, Bennett, Williams, and now Dez, and he can never get that ball high and away where it belongs.

Another example is Witten's TD numbers. With Romo, they are ridiculously low, yet with Bledsoe, Testaverde, and Kitna, Witten averaged 7 TD's a season. With Romo? Only 3.6 TD's a season.

I don't think that's a coincidence.

Romo isn't the smartest QB around, and I think that becomes even clearer when the options are limited on the short end of the field.
