The Cowboys have a long history of working with agent Eugene Parker.

They've gotten deals done with Parker for guys like Emmitt Smith, Deion Sanders , Quincy Carter, Anthony Spencer, Felix Jones and Mike Jenkins, who has since switched to Drew Rosenhaus, over the years.

But let's focus on the last three guys because they were the team's first round picks in 2007 and '08 and relate it to this year's No. 1 pick, Dez Bryant.

There's some worry out there that Bryant could miss some training camp time in a holdout in part because of the uncertain rules going forward without a collective bargaining agreement, how and when a player could earn a second-year option bonus and last year's Michael Crabtee situation.

But let's get back to Spencer, Jones and Jenkins. They were the 26th, 22nd and 25th picks in the first round when they came out. They got deals slotted in their spots and they missed only a couple of practices. Camps in 2007 and '08 started on July 25. Spencer signed on July 27. Jones and Jenkins signed on July 26.

History says Bryant won't be in San Antonio for that first training camp practice, but he won't miss that much time.
