The unmodified Air Coryell theory of offense without a primary commitment to running the ball is an antiquated system of the past that unless Peyton Manning runs it (who constant modifies his own offense during a game) will fail, continue failing and follow the same history of failing that any modern coach who implements it has experienced.

Mike Tice, Norv Turner, Cam Cameron, Scott Linehan, and for your entertainment look how Hue Jackson is destroying the Bengals talent. The Browns were looking like defensive juggernauts.

Dalton's post game interview is almost identical to Garrett's.

It's the only NFL offense I can think of that gets worse with more frequent use and only improves the less you see of its original design theory.

Brian Dawkins said that Dallas reduced their chances in the Washington and Arizona games because they didn't run as much as they did in the first 7 games. Dallas is going to be sacked and intercepted, pressured and frustrated and the excuse is going to be "missing assignments" "failing to execute" etc. Wrong. It's a failing passing scheme that anyone with game tape can figure out and cover fairly easily.

Norv initially modified Air- Coryell to accommodate Emmitt, then center it around him. I imagine that he didn't realize that Emmitt would be the kind of RB that he would eventually become.

Linehan was doing with Murray what Norv done with Emmit, right up until the Redskins' game when Garrett hijacked the play calling duties.

None of this is unique to Air Coryell. Schemes get figured out and so must evolve to stay vital.

(I did that in two sentences)
