Jerry Jones: Regular refs 'make a lot of mistakes,' too
August, 31, 2012
By Tim MacMahon | ESPNDallas.com

Jerry Jones certainly isn't going to say anything to give up a lick of leverage as the NFL heads back to the negotiating table with its locked-out officials.

In fact, Jones fired a shot at the referees during his Friday radio show.

“As long as it’s consistent, then how it affects the outcome of the games really may not be as much,” Dallas Cowboys owner Jones said on KRLD-FM. “The important people out there are the players and the coaches and the fans, and they’ll all be there. They’ll all be there.

"The officials that are out there are going to make mistakes, but believe you me, the officials that would be there if we got this resolved will make a lot of mistakes.”

he's right, they do make a ton of mistakes and no matter what some of the hosers here say, they do seem to nit pick us more than the teams we play (especially in terms of holding and PI calls)

that said, these replacement guys are laughable...they dont even know the basic rules and have screwed up even the most routine calls...Goodell is solely to blame for this...if the intent was to use these losers (or even a remote chance of using them) in real games, these guys should be spending every waking moment in some sort of ref training and NFL rules 101, and by some of the reports I saw they've hardly had any sort of league sponsored training

officials are always going to blow calls, but in a league where 1 games makes a huge difference (take into last yr, if the NYG had lost just ONE more game, they wouldnt have made the playoffs and hence, wouldnt have won another super bowl) its pathetic to think the league would trot out guys who are utterly clueless.

The new refs are going to blow more calls and are a net minus, but --

One possible advantage of having the new refs is that (perhaps) they won't call games so tightly. I'd welcome more of a let-the-players-play attitude. It makes the game more watchable.

Not exactly a good way to endear yourself to the refs, but it's not like they could call our games any worse.

did you see them during the preseason? they were outta control with flag throwing

I'd almost prefer they call nothing, at least they cant fuck up the rules interpretations then
