If I had my druthers we'd eliminate preseason all-together . Feels like a dry hobo jerk off

But I think the most satisfying formula to all parties is 2 preseason games, 17 regular season games, and 2 bye-weeks. With independent concussion specialist at every game yada yada yada nobody cares.

If they do eliminate some preseason games I think what goodell will try to do is add 1 playoff team per conference. 1 bye week for the top seed. 3 games on wildcard Saturday and 3 on Sunday. Thus increasing revenue lost from cancelled preseason games .

It kinda fits with their thinking of more is better and America hasn't been complaining .

That would work for me. I used to love the pre-season because by August I was craving football so bad anyways, but I never would've paid for a ticket or anythng like that.

Cutting it to two pre-season games would be plenty. Three max. Four is ridiculous overkill.

I think the regular season is long enough. I don’t want anymore games. I think 4 preseason games is right. 2 feels too short. 3 feels unbalanced. We just don’t like foreplay. We just want to stick it in and go, but these games are needed. Gives the players a gradual buildup of intensity and in the end a better product.

I would think you'd have to extend training camp by a few practice days to accommodate the less evaluation in 2 pre-season game factor. Teams might really like that. Less exposure of your young players to other teams.

14 regular season games was ideal in my opinion. With 16, it is less about who is the best team and more about who is hot at the right time. Extend the season even more and the season becomes even less about greatness and more about temporal fortune.

If you really love and respect the game, there is nothing wrong with a team spending 4 to 6 preseason games getting honed and ready for the regular season. Landry was a master at getting his teams prepared for the games that mattered. Today teams just sort of show up for opening day and hope for the best. They don't really expect to hit full stride until a few weeks later.
