Just kidding.

Holmgren is out in Cleveland today. I imagine he ends up on nfl network or whatever in a week or so.

but it is interesting with him floating around.

and yes I was only kidding, different offense both giant ego's. No chance he comes here.

Really, they fired him?

Wish we could hire him to coach...

But if it isn't to coach, I doubt there's any other role for him. Not like he's been a good GM, if Jerry even would hire one.

He would have to punch a time clock like they wanted Dan Reeves to do. I'm sure he hasn't done that since he was 16.

How would people feel about Andy Reid?

Just tossin it around

same problems as garrett.

all his good years are when he had a top flight expirienced defensive coordinator.

since then it has been below average.

no playoff wins, two wildcard losses and drama off the field.

He like marty schottenheimer and dan reeves and others in history blew there chance to win with a championship team and now are chasing that moment.

So what's the answer? How can this work with Jerry? Bc it's pointless to discuss things that dont include him, for the time being.

not a Holmgren fan. Don't hate him or anything, just don't envision him as THE Cowboys HC.

the only I can say is we keep collecting talent and get a kick ass defensive coordinator, upgrade the special teams coach and players......and protect romo better.

A killer defense and special teams can carry a football team all the way. Again just look at the eagles teams in the early 2000s that was a defensive team that had a great kicker. Same thing in baltimore, pittsburgh, sf last year....NY.

I have been whining about it for years and you have been lately.

personally I really like mike nolan and wanted him to come here, he has the charisma of ryan only he is actually a better coach.

so the hope for me to get better with garrett is to have a great draft, signs some good free agents and get a better DC and ST coach.

He's overrated anyway. Hasn't done a thing outside of that one Superbowl.

Holmgren? WHat?

He fixed the packers the way parcells fixed the giants.....two perennial losers where no one wanted to play.

Holmgren was a great coach. He recognized talented young coaches and then put them in positions to succeed.

Holmgren is probably going to be retired, but his career was great.

His team actually outplayed the steelers in the superbowl in 05 and he should be the only coach in history to win two superbowls with two different teams.

Garrett's a lost cause. He's dumber than shit.

so was brian billick, he was a terrible coordinator and coach in baltimore.

but his defense and special teams were great and he won behind it.

I think an elite defense is clearly the best answer.

We need to keep collecting talent. More importantly, we need a Dcoord worth a damn. Ryan sucks. This defense is so much worse than it should be.

I would rather have a competant head coach bring a good special teams coach and defensive coordinator with him. I doubt it happens because no one wants to work for Jerry, but that's what I would rather have.

There's nobody out there that can help us

I still think Gruden, with total autonomy, could win with this core. I think he's the only guy out there now who has the street cred to fix our problems and keep Jerry off to the side. He would need a Jeff Fisher like deal (name his own GM) and Parcells type power but if given those things, I honestly feel we would be a top 5 team next year.

we might have that in time with garrett, no one knows.

but giving him a great defense and a great special teams would change everything.

we have a great kicker.

I think he had that in tampa and it was kind of a disaster....Gruden is a good playcaller, not sure he is head of the franchise type guy.

Looking back those rumors that stephen wanted to fire wade after the vikings loss and hire shannahan probably would have been this organizations best bet. Our offense with romo/shannahan and our recieving threats would be terrific.

Is there any doubt that Ryan is the scapegoat after this season? I don't think so..not saying all the blame is on him, but it will portrayed that way

We held the ball for 40 minutes on Sunday.

The fact that our defense gave up 24 points in 20 minutes is a fucking travesty. Ryan isn't taking nearly enough heat this week. Nor is Jerome Henderson. Imagine the thrashing Campo would be taking after Brandon Carr and Orlando Scandrick watched Boldin catch 4 straight passes without even coming close to attempting to make a play on the ball.
