Cowboys defensive end Greg Hardy has accepted his four-game suspension and will not pursue litigation against the NFL.
In the wake of Tom Brady winning a court battle to have his own four-game suspension overturned, there was talk that Hardy might be headed to court as well. But Hardy, who was suspended for violating the league’s personal-conduct policy in connection with a domestic violence case, has accepted that he is out for the first four weeks of the season.
“While I am terribly disappointed to miss the first four games of this season, I am absolutely determined that my issue is not going to be a distraction for the Cowboys,” Hardy said in a statement to PFT. “I have enormous affection and respect for everyone here, and having seen the impact a court case can have on an NFL organization, I believe it is in the team’s best interest for me to announce that I will not pursue any further litigation. Everything I do from this point on will be designed to bring glory and pride to my family, their family and this team.”
Hardy will re-join the Cowboys for Week Five against the Patriots.
