Sportsradio 1310 The Ticket host Bob Sturm grades the Dallas Cowboys in their loss to the Green Bay Packers:

OFFENSE: B

The offense has led this team all season long and simply could not afford a slow start. After going field goal, punt, punt, the Cowboys offense was dynamic the rest of the day -- scoring 28 points on their final six possessions. But the hole proved to be too deep. Dak Prescott was impressive all day, including a host of third-down conversions that kept the team alive. Ezekiel Elliott was as advertised as well, dominating on the ground. In the end, it seemed the game might have required one less field goal and one more touchdown.

DEFENSE: C-

All game long, it felt like the Cowboys were chasing Aaron Rodgers around, trying to come to a different conclusion than any of Green Bay's defensive opponent from the last two months. There were plays made, but, to their dismay, not enough to slow him and that offense down. Receivers ran open continuously, advantageous matchups were found and the final verdict was reached when Rodgers was able to roll out and convert a massive third-and-20 with 12 seconds to go. Allowing 6 passes of 25 yards or more was unlike any other performance all year.

COACHING: B

The biggest issue from a coaching standpoint was being unable to establish Elliott and the devastating ground game amidst the chaos of Rodgers applying pressure to the scoreboard early. When Elliott was given the ball, he was seldom slowed down, but by the end of the game, the Cowboys were never able to see their massive advantage realized. That said, defensive coordinator Rod Marinelli and offensive coordinator Scott Linehan both had their troops fighting their tails off for 60 minutes, and Marinelli designed every blitz that could be imagined to try to change the game.

OVERALL: B

It cannot be described how difficult this loss is for a team that was good enough to win the Super Bowl. The margins in the NFL playoffs are incredibly slim, and while both teams seemed to have a right to victory, perhaps the Cowboys ultimately paid for their slow start and fell just short. That said, this rookie class, which might be considered one of the best in NFL history, remained positive contributors until the end while falling short. This Cowboys team will be in the mix for many years to come, but this one will sting for quite a while. Great year, but an empty feeling for an ending.

What the fucking fuck? Has the DFW media been brainwashed into the Garrett "Fight Scratch Claw" loser mindset?

Why even keep score? Just give everyone juice boxes after 60 minutes like a second-grade soccer league.

I don't see how coaching got a B.

The players were ill prepared. There were all sorts of substitution issues - both with Rogers getting a free play TD after catching us with 12 men in the huddle, to Brice Butler running on the field, getting in the huddle, looking around confused and running off the field. We started slow. The clock management was garbage. The spike was costly as fuck. A number of play calls were questionable or otherwise pure shit. The defense was on their heels all day against a one dimensional offense.

Coaching was a shit show and Sturm is full of shit.

Yeah when I saw that Garrett was using his scratch fight claw clichés in the post game press conference it just made me sick about this team again. I hate that loser.

How can you watch that loser? I cant stand looking at him. He tries to act like he's in control and steady and just pushing on not affected by anything and staying focused.

My thoughts as well. He is a loser and this team will never win anything preaching that they are a bunch of overachievers who gosh darn it battle until the end. Amazing how this robotic twerp had a team win 13 games, many in dominating fashion, come up with that shit as a theme?

Props for the last several posts.

Why don't more people in the media see what a fraud he is. Why does he get such a pass. It's infuriating.

I still think we will have a situation like Tony Dungy in Tampa Bay. The team will come close but never be a real contender until they bring in a real HC. Timing-wise it could end up being a Harbaugh (either one).

Sir, I'm going to ask you to refrain from using the term "juice box" for fear of hurting the feelings of those who prefer to drink their juice out of a cup.

We need to ditch Marinelli's D. This bend-but-don't break shit is annoying. Not to mention clearly falters in the face of a team with a very good QB.

That is why I am hoping he retires. Just promote Eberflus, I don't care. That scheme restricts not only the way we play, it also restricts who we draft.

I like hitting myself in the nuts with a hammer so I just watched Garrett's postgame PC. You guys are right. He talked about how as long as we "show who we are" (a bunch of fighting scratching clawers) it was fine. Said his number one goal was to build a team we could all be proud of and we've done that and he's proud of it.

Omega is right. Garrett should run a football camp for 12 year olds. All he can talk about is trying hard and being the best version of yourself. He's never said this is unacceptable, this cannot continue, winning is all that matters and we didn't do that so we failed, etc. Professional sports really isn't for him.

I really think college football is where he belongs. Maybe not at an elite high end school like an Alabama, USC or OU, but something a tier or so down from them. Or maybe at a program that would perfectly satisfied winning 8 or 9 games a yr and going to a mid level bowl.
