George: Texas safety Kenny Vaccaro to workout for the Cowboys on Wednesday

Former Texas safety Kenny Vaccaro tweeted this afternoon that he will workout for the Cowboys on Wednesday.


“Workout for the Cowboys Wednesday … Uh ohh,” Vaccaro tweeted.

About an hour later, Cowboys receiver Dez Bryant replied to Vaccaro’s tweet with a tweet of his own, “I’m coming to check you out.”

Texas’ pro day is March 26 in Austin, and Vaccaro will be among the Longhorns on display a week from Tuesday.

Before getting back to Austin, Vaccaro will workout for the Cowboys. And the Cowboys need help at safety in their new 4-3 defense after cutting veteran Gerald Sensabaugh.

Vaccaro is projected to be a first-round pick in the NFL draft in late April, and the Cowboys select 18th overall.

The Cowboys will look to add a veteran safety in free agency before the draft, but they’re limited because of their salary cap restrictions.

That's the point I tried to make to Zoners who hit me with "Well, who did you want Jerry to draft/sign?" Um, Jerry as a full-time employee with access to film and scouting reports is supposed to be more adept at this than the average fan.
