I am not sure what new rules or changes may apply now, does anyone know the details?
Say we end up having to franchise tag Dez. Whats to keep a team like Seattle or New England from offering him some mega deal and giving up two firsts for him if we cant match the offer? If you were either of them (especially Seattle) with a fairly pediestrian WR corp and plenty of cap room, seems that would be a fairly smart move on their behalf. Both teams have end of the first rd picks this year and presumably may again next year.
Do we have exclusive negotiating rights and can trade him if we wish, or is it still set up so that teams could make offers if they were willing to give up the two 1st rd picks?
