Defensive end Kenneth Boatright suffered a possible neck injury in practice Thursday and had to be carted off the field.
He was taken by ambulance to a local hospital for further evaluation.
Boatright, a second-year defensive tackle from Illinois, was injured at the end of a pass rush drill when he collided with tackle Tyron Smith. He was strapped to a board and had his face masked removed.
The Cowboys refused to speculate on the seriousness of the injury but were happy to report he was moving his legs before being taken away.
"It’s just unfair to say anything until we get a report on it. So we’re just waiting for that report," Vice President Stephen Jones said. "Going back to look at the tape but I haven’t seen it for sure. I think there’s varying reports and we’re trying to confirm how it exactly happened. It was some collision with Tyron. The question is whether he got hut on the side or on the top.
