*Editor's note: This interview was recorded before quarterback Nick Foles signed with the Kansas City Chiefs on Wednesday.

Woodson, asked if he was OK with the idea that Moore would be the backup quarterback going into the season:

Woodson: "Uh, no. Absolutely not. I thought that they would be on the waiver wire looking for someone, or actually through free agency. I thought Nick Foles' name continuously picked up, so I feel like even if Kellen Moore wasn't hurt, that they would bring in someone like Nick Foles. And that's just it for this organization right now. We've seen what's gone on last year, that they couldn't win without Tony Romo, so any type of security that you can get as a backup quarterback -- if you got five games, I'm not asking you to win all five games, but at least split, or go 2-3 or whatnot -- just to win a couple ... I just felt like they went into this season without the backup that I was comfortable with, but even with Kellen Moore out, they have to go out and find someone."

Woodson on McClain's suspension and the news that the linebacker's biggest problem may be an addiction to "purple drank":

Woodson: "When Rolando McClain came out and Nick Saban basically stuck his neck out for him two years ago, he came out and I thought his first year, I thought he played exceptionally well. And the word around Valley Ranch had always been that he was highly intelligent, got guys lined up and played with a lot of energy when he was on the field, but after his first year, things seem just to just go spiral down and I know that he ended up getting the suspension, four-game suspension, but the talk around town in Valley Ranch was there were times that he just didn't want to play. He'd show up Wednesday, Thursday, actually didn't want to practice. They'd have to force him to practice. He'd show up on a Friday or Saturday before a game and say, 'Hey, I'm not feeling it. I don't feel like playing.'

"To me, as a football player, there's 53 guys on that roster, man. You're counting on all 53 guys to be available, and especially if you've gone a full week of practice, guys are expecting you to be out there on Sunday to go to battle with them and that, for a guy who was a captain for a number of years as a Dallas Cowboy, that is absolutely unacceptable. And to be that selfish as a person, to not only check yourself out of games, but go through a suspension in (each of) the last couple of years, he just did not want to play the game and I just can't believe the Cowboys offered him another deal this offseason, and that he still hasn't been cut -- and honestly, there's some situations with salary cap that they can't just let him go right now, but they need to separate themselves as far as possible away from Rolando McClain."

Your next General Manager of the Dallas Cowboys.

Would be a huge step in the right direction.

No doubt, unfortunately we know it wont happen here.

He'll probably end up in somebody else's front office along with a certain HOF QB that played here.

Always liked Darren. As a player and on TV. Him and Dilfer are probably the best analysts.

That would be awesome. Darren is still fairly young, and how many years max do you think Jerry will be around?
