The Cowboys released wide receiver Donavon Kemp on Thursday.

Kemp finished the 2012 season on injured reserve with a knee injury.

The Cowboys wide receivers are as follows: Anthony Armstrong, Miles Austin, Cole Beasley, Tim Benford, Dez Bryant, Danny Coale, Jared Green, Dwayne Harris and Carlton Mitchell.

Seems like an unnecessary move unless they are about to sign someone and needed the roster spot.

Yeah, I think they were just waiting for him to get healthy before releasing him.

That torn acl got him a years paycheck, so good for him.

He had no chance to make the team and they ended up paying him a year because he tore his ACL.
