Dallas Cowboys inside linebacker Bradie James said the shift in position of the umpire could cause fewer holding penalties this year. The umpire has been moved from near an inside linebacker to the offensive backfield.

``When they're close, they can see the offensive guards and tackles grab me,'' Jeames said. ``It'll be tougher to see that now. With them being in the better get some Lasix (eye surgery).''

The Cowboys' offense could benefit from the switch. It had 20 holding penalties last season, third-highest total in the league. Pittsburgh led with 24, and Arizona had 21.

Tight end Martellus Benett and center Andre Gurode were the leading offeders on the Cowboys. Each had four holding penalties accepted. Fullack Deon Anderson had three holding penalties, tying Tennessee's Ahrmad Hall for the most in the league by a back. Anderson's blocking will help determine whether he makes the opening-day roster.
