Carr: Cowboys ‘had a sense of urgency’ during Monday’s practice

IRVING — The Cowboys practiced Monday for the first time in five days. After having a bye week, the team returned to Valley Ranch to begin preparing for the 4-1 Baltimore Ravens.
So how did the group look after having a few extra days off?
“I feel like we’re refreshed. Guys had a sense of urgency,” Cowboys cornerback Brandon Carr said. “We just erased the last four weeks out of our memory and now it’s time to start the second quarter of our season, this four-game stretch. Guys are just eager to get out there, have fun and mix it up a little bit.”
The four-game stretch includes road games at Baltimore, Carolina and Atlanta and a visit from the defending Super Bowl champion New York Giants. Those four teams have a combined record of 13-7. But Carr said the Cowboys (2-2) can’t afford to look ahead.
“We have to focus on the now, and the now is the Baltimore Ravens,” Carr said. “We can’t look ahead to next week or the week after. We have to take care of business now.”
Carr said he is so focused on the now that he doesn’t know the records of the other teams in the NFC East.
“I’m just focused on what’s going on in this locker room and what’s going on in this organization,” Carr said. “At the end of the day, I’m a Dallas Cowboy and that’s all that matters to me.”
