With just an hour-long broadcast, many email questions often get passed over on the Cowboys Break online radio show. But all questions are appreciated and we'll try to answer them in some form or fashion. After Tuesday's show, Bryan Broaddus answered a few that didn't make the air.

BRANDON MAXWELL
DALLAS, TX

Could the Cowboys play Morris Claiborne in the slot and put Mike Jenkins and Brandon Carr on the outside? They're the three best corners on this team.

Broaddus: Claiborne has normally played as the right corner in his career although I have seen him cover in the slot some. But Orlando Scandrick is your slot corner and for how bad he struggled some last year, they are still going to have him do the job.

LUCY ATAMIAN
LOS ANGELES, CA

I think Anthony Spencer will greatly benefit from the upgraded secondary. Do you think Jerry and Stephen Jones should try to work out a long-term deal with him before the season, or do you think they should wait to see how he performs at the risk of possibility having to pay more to keep him?

Broaddus: I think that the front office is going to let this ride and see what happens. This is the risk you take, but to be honest, with Kyle Wilber now in the mix, they have at least protected themselves.

CLIFF MOWER
SCARBOROUGH, ME

With the cornerback upgrades, should we expect significantly more blitzing this year?

Broaddus: The overall feeling from the front office was that it wasn't the pass rush but the coverage. If you have players like Carr, Claiborne and Jenkins, that can play man coverage and mirror receivers all day, you should get your rush home.

KYLE FORCHETTI
EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ

What do you look for in a slot wide receiver and a slot cornerback?

Broaddus:
Quickness and the ability to react on your feet. You have to be a savvy player to play in the slot. You have to adjust and read what is happening to you. A slot receiver can run his route anywhere and a slot corner has to be prepared to carry the receiver all over the field.

DAVID OKE
BOSTON, MA

If money's not a factor, who do you keep, Marcus Spears or Kenyon Coleman?

Broaddus: I am not a big Coleman fan, but that's just my view. For six to eight games he is OK, but after that you get a player that wears down. If I had to make a choice, I would go with Spears.

The guy with the biggest impact on the secondary will be Jerome Henderson IMO.

I haven't felt this good about our corners in a long time. I hope they can figure something out and keep all these guys.

Claiborne, Carr, Jenkins, Scandrick and Butler is a helluva group.

That it is. And then to have someone like Henderson coaching them. One thing for sure, the secondary will be more physical. No more of this finesse bullshit.

Him, followed closely by the absence of Terrence Newman.

I've never been a Newman hater, but he was pretty bad last year. To just get solid play from his replacement, whoever it turns out to be, will be huge.

I thought we had it perfectly in 05. Henry, newman and glenn. It seemed we were in great shape that year.

Then the redskins game happened and it was just kind of hit or miss the rest of the year.

everytime I get to excited about something it just never works out, the last time I got all excited was the bryant draft. So I just am taking the wait and see approach.

On paper claibourne, carr, jenkins, scandrick and butler should create quite a challenge for opposing offenses.

but as we have seen here recently when it seemed we had all the parts in place stuff happens and it doesnt work out.

So I am just going to wait and see. the first step is getting through the preseason with everyone healthy. IF we can do that, well that is as good a start as there is. recently our secondary never makes it out unscathed though.

It's hard to imagine our CBs won't be really good.

But Eagles fans knew their corners would be good at this time last year and they still had a horrible year on D. Hope that doesn't happen to us.

little different though, they were carrying a really poor coordinator and had a corner who didnt fit the scheme, plus nate allen was terrible and had to be replaced.

oh and there qb kept giving the other team the ball.

They also had a tight ends coach as their defensive coordinator though...

True guys, I wasn't saying our D would suck this year... I don't expect that at all. Just saying that great (or very good) corners alone don't make you.

I guess it depends on how you draw up your defensive game-plan. The Eagles excelled under Jim Johnson because they relied on heavy blitz packages. Apparently Rob Ryan draws up his defense to where a lot of stress is placed on the defensive backfield. I think it's because his creative blitz packages take a little while to wind up while Johnson just sent a bunch of guys to hit all the gaps.

Five of the 10 CBs on Cowboys roster are 6-foot-plus. Three of those are 200 lbs-plus. One is Carr (6-0, 207). Size matters in NFC East.
