On the draft board and 'leapfrogging' to fill a need:

Bryan Broaddus: That's where they get in trouble. If you go back to the 2009 draft, they sat there and they had LeSean McCoy with a first-round grade. The problem was, they weren't willing to take LeSean McCoy. That's the issue. Don't windowdress your board. They're sitting there in the second round and they've got LeSean McCoy with a first-round grade on their board. That's value. They did it (got it right) with Sean Lee, they did it with Bruce Carter. They sat there, they took the guy that was on the board that they were supposed to take. Mistakes are made when you jump around on the board. Jerry's done it a couple of different times. The Quincy Carter draft, we had Kendrell Bell there, first-round grade, ends up going the second round; goes right behind us to the Pittsburgh Steelers. Ends up being AFC defensive rookie of the year. And then we take Quincy Carter. That was a forced pick right there. You had a guy there you had a better grade on, you probably could have got Quincy Carter later in the draft. That's where you get in trouble leapfrogging around.

On getting a pick right:

Bryan Broaddus: Once that board is set, those are the guys you're going to take. We're sitting in the third round and all of a sudden you get a first-round grade on Jason Witten. Jerry looks up at the board and says I think we need to take Jason Witten here boys. Those are the positive things that happen.

On the 2009 draft and the fact that the Cowboys may have no players from that draft when next season begins:
Bryan Broaddus: That's the problem. Those are the guys that should be your core players. They got nobody from that draft and I believe they had 12 picks in that draft. That's the fault of of the scouting department and the general manager.

When this season starts we will have two players left from the 07-09 drafts.

Jon Phillips and Orlando scandrick. And who knows about Phillips.

babe and archer said it last night, this is a poor organization that has had a bad offseason so far. It's all on Jerry, he made all these changes and its on him now.

I am sure Jerry doesn't like getting booed in his own stadium and not being able to be seen on he video board, so he made all these changes he is doing everything he wants to do to avoid that again.

We are on the path to 5-11 and the Quincy carter days are just around the corner. It's the same front office still picking players, all there nonsense was covered for a short period by th good team that was assembled between 03-06.

Garrett will get fired in the offseason. This whole offseason has made no sense to me. The owner fired and made changes that usually happen during a coaching change, only he did everything but fire the coach. So now the coach is stuck trying to defend himself because of the situation he has been put in. It's going o be a disaster.

U either believe in the coach or you do not. Clearly Jerry does not but he didn't fire him, it makes no sense, it's like he was kept around to be the fall guy next year after this front office screws up another offseason.

Jerry jones, Stephen jones and Tom ciskowski should all be fired with Garrett next year, but they won't be.

We will never get real change again. Parcells was the last chance and they didn't get a qb till too late.

I think Jerry is comfortable.

He sees Jason as a walk around head coach. Let him oversee his offese. Let the defense take care of itself. Afterall, Joe Gibbs has little to no involvement with the defensive side of the ball, and Joe and Jerry are tight.

But I agree that we are hanging around hoping to catch breaks until Romo retires, then we're going to hell in a handbasket.

What we really need is for people close to Jerry to start dying.

Al did it. Now we need others. Switzer. Lacewell. Hell, even Parcells.

Give Jerry a sense of mortality. Once he starts fearing death and has a sense of mortality, I bet he'd make wholesale changes just to hoise another Lombardi.
