"A lifetime of music and joy" Composer Lalo Shifrin, dead at 93

[Doomsday]

Soundtracked entire generations with works such as Cool Hand Luke, Bullitt, the Dirty Harry movies, Mannix, Mission Impossible and many many more. Passed away via complications of pneumonia.

Never will forget the scene in Cool Hand Luke where Luke led the rest of the prisoners to race while recovering a road. Shifrin's music for this became canon boilerplate for decades of TV news broadcast themes. And I don't think the sequence carries nearly as much punch without the music.
