1st cutdown in Tuesday, don't believe its all that hard for them to get from 90 to 75.
Here's my predictions for the final 53:
QB (2)- Romo, Weeden. After some of the comments Weeden made last week, I wonder if he might consider retiring. Even if he doesn't, the FO might look for a more capable #2. No way do they keep 3 after what we saw the last two weeks from Vaughan and Showers.
RB (3)- McFadden, Randle & Dunbar.
FB (1)- Clutts. He dropped a ball last night but he caught a couple others I think. His blocking is also pretty solid.
WR (5)- Dez, T Williams, Beasley, Street & TBD. Like Broaddus, not sure Whitehead has done enough to be the 5th guy and he still doesn't catch punts clean. This spot might go to someone from another team.
TE (3 or 4)- Witten, Escobar, Swaim & maybe TBD. I think Hanna will be traded for a late rd pick or another role player. I think the TBD will be a guy who's a strong blocker
OL (8 or 9)- T Smith, Leary, Frederick, Martin, Free, Bernadeau, Collins, Weems, maybe TBD. Definitely wont be surprised if they pick up another veteran T. Doesn't look like Chaz Green will be active this yr and the 7th rd pick Gibson isn't ready, probably a PS candidate.
DL (11)- Hardy*, Lawrence, Gregory, Mincey, Gardner, Russell, Hayden, T Crawford, J Crawford, Coleman, Bishop. Hardy doesn't count the first 4 games. 11 is a little long on DL, maybe Bishop is odd man out after Hardy returns. I think T McClain gets cut or traded.
LB (7)- Lee, R McClain*, Hitchens, Wilbur, Wilson, Gachkar, K Smith. McClain doesn't count first 4 games. If K Smith isn't the last LB, perhaps they snag one off waivers at final cut down. Whoever last LB is, probably gets whacked when McClain returns. Smith has made quite a few plays in preseason.
CB (5)- Carr, Claiborne, Patmon, White, B Jones
FS/SS (4)- Church, Wilcox, Heath, McCray or TBD. Definitely wont be surprised if either one or both of Heath & McCray are cut and replaced with someone from another team. Both have had lousy camps/preseasons IMO and neither has made any difference on ST, which is supposedly why they are here.
ST (3)- Bailey, Jones, LaDouceur
I think that's 54 if you take the high end of the numbers I have, but Hardy and McClain don't count so there's one open roster spot. Maybe they keep a 6th WR (if they are in love with Jenkins) or add another CB or OL.
