I think a knee sprain involves ligaments, and not muscle. You can get a knee sprain by just planting your foot wrong or getting it rolled over. There's nothing you can do about that. But all the rest of the injuries like Miles and Laurent's hamsting and Newman's groin...those involve muscles...

Ware had a stinger in his neck, and a host of other players as well last season, and they only missed the rest of the game. They were back the following week. Jenkins misses and entire preseason with a neck stinger. Sounds to me that he just didn't want to do training camp.
