Watched a lot of 49ers games last year (to see my boy Taylor Mays). Clements is not the shutdown corner he once was but he is one willing hitter. He was outright vicious on some hits. He may need to consider the move to safety.

I am also hopeful that Ryan makes a difference. Rob Ryan + 2 new safeties + less Brooking and more Lee & Carter should equal a much improved defense.

Bruce Carter is a quality linebacker BUT is coming off injury and at best, is our 4th best ILB as of right now. Rahim Moore was available and would have been an instant upgrade at FS. IMO we took a luxury pick there over a huge need and a player that fit that need. Murray is another quality...

Off subject..but his younger brother is one of the top young safeties in the NCAA.

The guys who evaluate the "available safeties" are the same braintrust who thought Alan Ball was adequate in 2010. We can't keep ignoring the position.

Having lived here now and being bombarded with all things Cardianls, I can tell you that Whisenhunt is desperate for a veteran QB. He may not be long for here if they don't win a very mediocre division .

Since trading a player would create the same cap hit as releasing him, why not trade him? I've never been a fan of Bradie James but also realize he is currently our best ILB.
