Lessons from a comeback - CA sets the pace for America

I'm absolutely convinced you're just pulling everyone's leg just to fuck to fuck with them. No one can possibly be this oblivious to the economic issues facing California or pimp and article from a left wing NY Times columnist that California is coming back when cities in that state are going...

Sturm: Evaluating the Cowboys 2012 Draft class

I get that he's been "solid" but you'd expect a but more than a gift INT when Carr is playing opposite you. He's young and I'm not down on the guy but to say he's some sort of ball hawking INT machine after what we've seen last season is a stretch,

Sturm: Evaluating the Cowboys 2012 Draft class

Sometimes I wonder if I'm watching the same game. Claiborne had one forced fumble and one INT. Am I missing something?

Shroud of Turin Image in 3D; Is it Real or a Forgery?

Or burning bushes that talk? Yeah, I believe. I believe in miracles too, but I readily admit that I'm not the religious pillar of my church.

Shroud of Turin Image in 3D; Is it Real or a Forgery?

Jon: I believe the government was behind 9/11 and the Muslims were lackeys, evidence be damned. DCU: Hey Jon, what do you think about God and religion? Jon: They don't exist. There's no evidence and it's an unbelievable theory.

Yep....but there's still hope if he repents now.

Shroud of Turin Image in 3D; Is it Real or a Forgery?

The main question is how the image came to be on the shroud in the first place. At the very least it raises some interesting questions and it can't be completely dismissed. And no, I'm not a bible thumper. I just find it intriguing.

Shroud of Turin Image in 3D; Is it Real or a Forgery?

I didn't think it was too bad. At the very least, it may help a few people here find their way.......

Shroud of Turin Image in 3D; Is it Real or a Forgery?

Pretty interesting and this video would indicate that the Shroud couldn't be an elaborate painting as some have suggested. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2N9NPuxCjXg

California county administrator to get $423,644 a year -- after retirement

I might be offended if you even knew or understood what that view was but it's obvious you can't grasp it. No sweat. The thread will just continue to deteriorate to the point that any reasonable discussion is pointless. You can have the last word.

California county administrator to get $423,644 a year -- after retirement

Honestly, leave that bullshit somewhere else. I didn't insult anyone's intelligence and I wasn't questioning or thinking it was unreasonable to wonder why a county employee is making crazy money. On the contrary, I question it as well. It's not my problem if you can't follow the flow of the...

California county administrator to get $423,644 a year -- after retirement

I've had multiple posts in this thread and I think I've stated pretty clearly where I stand on the subject. Civil servants, whether you agree with them or not, are necessary to the function of government; it's a necessary expense. Have some unions and pension plans gone way off the...

California county administrator to get $423,644 a year -- after retirement

It just doesn't sink in. It may not be the case across the board and not all pension plans are the same, but it certainly is in many cases.

California county administrator to get $423,644 a year -- after retirement

I haven't been advocating a distinction. At some point, these things are necessary expenditures (ie: public safety, teachers, firefighters, etc). What I have stated is that in today's economic climate, the continued increase in salaries and benefits needs to be looked at and there can be a...

Of course it's spending. What's your point?

California county administrator to get $423,644 a year -- after retirement

Look TE, I think you're much smarter than that. Do you really believe that NY, CA or IL are going broke because of civil servants? Really? These liberal states have spent themselves into oblivion.

California county administrator to get $423,644 a year -- after retirement

Maybe you've not been watching the news lately about Wisconsin and I'm sure other states will follow, if they haven't already. I don't have any issue with folks being critical and in some cases, it's justified. Just be accurate with the facts.

California county administrator to get $423,644 a year -- after retirement

It has worked for years. You act as if the public sector has never been dealing with employee pensions. Municipalities, as well as our own government, are going bankrupt because they are not fiscally responsible. I agree that unions and pensions need to be looked at; there is a fair median...
