Timeline of Jerrys' unwillingness to appropriately fix his OL over the last 5 years

and thus began the ridiculous adoration of Phil Costa. uhhh, the team was so high on Costa that they cut Gurode. Therefore, he is good. Plus, Ratliff thinks he's tough.

    Broaddus on Matt Johnson

I'd be soooooo excited about Matt Johnson's potential IF we had drafted him in the 6th or 7th round where he belonged.

Timeline of Jerrys' unwillingness to appropriately fix his OL over the last 5 years

As much as I want Jonathan Cooper, I would not trade up for him. We don't have the resources. I would wait and see if he slips to 18. If he's there, and no one else amazing has somehow slipped to us, I take him and tell Bernadeau and Costa they are competing for the starting Center job. You...

Timeline of Jerrys' unwillingness to appropriately fix his OL over the last 5 years

Would you rather: Draft Kenny Vacarro in the 1st and hope like hell for Larry Warford, Kyle Long, Barrett Jones, Travis Frederick, etc. in the 2nd OR Draft DJ Fluker in the 1st and hope like like hell for Matt Elam, Johnathan Cyprien, Eric Reid, etc in the 2nd ? Correct answer: Jerry doesn't...

Who will be the next to go?

Free not being cut or restructured really emphasizes the whole Jerry can't admit his mistakes mentality.

Timeline of Jerrys' unwillingness to appropriately fix his OL over the last 5 years

Our biggest issue remains that our chief talent evaluator and his army of yes-men, has-been's, and "special" family members can not truly evaluate the overall talent of our roster and it's weaknesses. Awful offensive line and safety play are exhibits A and B but there are many more. The overall...

    G. Sensabaugh CUT !!!

no reason we cant go into the draft thinking we can get a Safety in the 2nd round. The Safety depth is really good for the first time in a long time. We may have to trade up in the 2nd (or trade down in the 1st) but there should be 4 or 5 Safeties taken in the (very late)1st and 2nd rounds.

Troy Aikman: Cowboys have to get better at protecting Tony Romo

Riverboat gambler. Plus, he's smarter than all of us because he's rich, ask any Zoner. I mean he did single handedly pull off the Herschel Walker trade.

Restructuring Instead Of Cutting Shows Cowboys Still Don’t Get It

you forgot " Throw to Witten 20 times at the end of the game to march down the field, they'll never see it coming."

    TAG! youre it - Spencer

what sucks is unless we know that we have a trade partner already for Spencer or we know that we are close to working out a cap friendly long-term deal, we seriously just handcuffed ourselves for Free Agency in 8 days. We won't be adding anyone to an 8-8 team except 6 draft picks. Yay?!? Yes...

    G. Sensabaugh CUT !!!

some Longhorn slash Cowboy fans may be very happy come draft day. I keep hearing Texas used Vacarro in the slot which speaks higher of his coverage skills than I would have thought about him. I liked him as a run supporter, will have to go back and watch more games. I'll still hold out hope...

    TAG! youre it - Spencer

Saints are already short draft picks, they might not be willing to make a deal like this.

    TAG! youre it - Spencer

110% agreed. Trade or sign to a long-term, semi-reasonable contract are much better options than renting him at $10M for another year.

    TAG! youre it - Spencer

Do not agree, paying him $10M for 1 year is crazy stupid. Either move on, or get him to sign a much more reasonable contract. Paying him franchise money and letting him leave next year is the dumbest option available IMO. If Spencer was the difference in whether or not we were a championship...

We're sacrificing the future with cap restructures

I'd take Austin and a new DT, S, or G vs the new WR we drafted to replace Austin and no DT, S, or G. It took Austin 3 1/2 seasons to break out. We don't have that kind of time waiting on the new magical UDFA you are counting on.

We're sacrificing the future with cap restructures

always an option but that's another position not getting addressed. Said it before, HOPE and LUCK can not be our personnel strategy. UDFA's should be a bonus not a plan.

We're sacrificing the future with cap restructures

if you think Dwayne Harris can or that the Free Agent you sign for $592k can, I would disagree.

We're sacrificing the future with cap restructures

necessary? not sure. Nice to have? Yes. Miles, if healthy (a big if I know) is a valuable weapon for Romo and makes Dez and Witten less likley to be doubled.
