    Werder on Espn Dallas

That's right. If you can't slow down the opposing defense, at least you can try to get them winded.

Watkins: North Texas' Super Bowl chances getting boost?

Or New Orleans ... that's a great place for a big event. (so long as they keep the lights on)

Is there any reason for hope in 2013?

Well, it isn't like they will go 0-16. There will be some entertaining wins along the way. The win vs. Pittsburgh was fun to watch last season. There is hope for some more of those. Significantly better? Anything is possible, but it isn't so likely in my opinion.

Watkins: A look at Tony Romo under duress

That's an incoherent contribution from Calvin.

Archer: Do Cowboys believe Jermey Parnell is ready?

Even if the Cowboys were 100% sold on Parnell, the team would be wise to retain Free (provided Free is open to taking a salary cut). Free has value as a backup. He already knows the offense and he's played RT and LT. The Cowboys could do much worse for depth.

    Obamacare’s Tax Hike Train Wreck

Why would anyone want to change anything about health care? Sitting around watching sick people go bankrupt is fun.

Jerry's comments on Romo's work ethic

Even if Jerry thinks Romo is lazy, I can't see how it is helpful to say so in public. I heard JJT on the Mike & Mike radio show this morning speaking about Jerry's statement. JJT's take is that Jerry was sensitive after being criticized by some for extending Romo's megamillion dollar contract...

    Al Michaels busted for DUI

As he realizes what is happening, does Michaels drunkenly mutter a play-by-play account of events as they unfold?

Jerry's comments on Romo's work ethic

Jerry has no business making public statements like this and is an idiot for doing so.

    Escobar pick has Cowboys scheming

I've been advocating this for a couple of years now. I hope the Cowboys actually do it (... and I hope it works).

Fisher: Cowboys Personnel Boss Explains ‘How Draft Go’

No, not really. The pick was also based on the player's talent. The Cowboys saw him as a top-tier, ready to start immediately, OL. If they reached have a half round too early, I don't see it as a big deal in the grand scheme of things.

Fisher: Cowboys Personnel Boss Explains ‘How Draft Go’

Also interesting that Garrett is not mentioned in the article.

Fisher: Cowboys Personnel Boss Explains ‘How Draft Go’

I think the franchise's goal was to draft at least one top-tier, ready to start immediately, OL. And so that's what they did. If your most glaring weakness is OL, it isn't necessarily foolhardy to pass on a top tier DT so you can partially address your glaring weakness on the OL. My guess is...

    Redskins Name Change Proposed

"Redtails" ... that's an unexpected solution. Not half bad. Some irony too, as Pep suggests.

    The Defense

I don't expect the defense to be more than average. I'm looking forward to seeing if Claiborne takes a leap forward this year. If he's going to be an All Pro CB before his career is over, we should see obvious improvement/development this year.

    Peter King on our draft

I have a soft spot for Ditka as a Cowboys player. He was past his prime then, of course, but his TD in Super Bowl VI has stayed with me.

    Peter King on our draft

Huh? I go straight to Ditka, then DuPree. (I realize that LaFleur wore it too, but Ditka more than offsets IMO).

Didnt Romo say he preferred weapons over OL help?

Given how quickly the ready-to-start-immediately OL were picked this draft, I think it is difficult to criticize the team for failing to get two top-tier OL. It appears that they got one and that's not bad, given how the draft unfolded. I'm also glad that the team didn't draft more...
