Lawrence looks quick, explosive; Boys expect rookie to be a ‘significant contributor

The Joneses need to forget how the player got to the team. What matters is how the player plays.

Like to see the Cowboys take a flyer on Jarryd Hayne

Sign 'em Jerry! I'm sure it'll work out just great.

Zack Martin better than Cowboys expected

Fredrick was a GREAT pick. The guy is playing his ass off ... and he has filled a position of glaring need. Theoretically it could be that Fredrick might have been available 6 to 12 picks later ... but that doesn't mean he wasn't a great pick where he was picked (i.e., with the 31st choice...

    Are we good?

For what it is worth - We know that the Seahawks were on a short week; Seattle played on Monday night (on the east coast) just before playing the Cowboys. Maybe it had an impact ....

Tyron Smith: NFC Player of the Week.

Good for Smith! When an OT gets this kind of recognition it give me a little more faith in the system.

Wow. Yeah, based on that, it certainly doesn't look like an honest mistake. Oh well ....

'The Hitch' returns - Dallas O-Line used it in Victory formation last night

I'm sure for most it went unnoticed (particularly given that it wasn't done very well). Eventually, though, it'll attract the attention of the national media. A strong Cowboys team is a national story. This OL is a huge part of that story, so it won't be long before their Landry hitch...

    Randle arrested...

Difficult to figure this one out. I've known a few people who have picked something up while shopping, shopped around in the store some more, and then left the store absentmindedly forgetting that they were carrying something that had not been purchased. Or he could be a bonafide klepto ....

'The Hitch' returns - Dallas O-Line used it in Victory formation last night

Thanks for posting it, BB! I was watching, but it was very sloppy and so poorly executed that I didn't recognize it. If the worst criticism of this OL is that they can't quite master the victory formation embellishment, things must be going pretty well.

'The Hitch' returns - Dallas O-Line used it in Victory formation last night

I heard someone else mention this too, so I guess it must have happened. I was looking for it, but I didn't see it. BB, do you have it?

    Are we good?

IMO, the defense is improved and it seems that Marinelli is gearing the scheme to better fit the strengths of the players. But I also think that a highly effective, punishing, ball-control offense changes the overall game and basically puts the Cowboys defense in much better situations.

    Whitt Watch Top 10

I believe that the turnovers had an unanticipated benefit for the Cowboys. The Seahawks offense lost a few opportunities to put together long drives. Instead, the Cowboys OL was given more time to beat up and wear down the Seattle defense. Giving up quick points is hardly a recipe for...

I'd feel real good about the future of this team if...

I'm not so pessimistic about the next QB. There is a reasonable chance that Romo's successor will inherit a high quality OL, a better than average running game, and quality receivers. And who knows, maybe a solid veteran free agent QB becomes available ....

I agree, Midswat. Most years he hasn't had much of a running game or pass protection.

    Who you got? week 6

McClain is banged up and Carter isn't playing. ... if both were 100%, I'd like the Cowboys' chances. As it is, the Seahawks offense rolls and outscores the Cowboys. It could be different in the playoffs, though.

Broaddus: 12 Things Highlighted by Handling Watt, Bryant’s Play

I was very surprised by Garrett's decision to have Bailey kick a 48 yard field goal on third down during overtime (with plenty of time left in the period). I fully expected the offense to attempt to shorten the distance. Bailey made the kick, so it is difficult to argue that Garrett's strategy...

    JJT catching Homer Fever

Sometimes teams gain confidence and become better while beating poor teams. Me too. This was a game that could have been easily lost. Dallas lost 3 turnovers (to Houston's 1). Anybody know the percentage of teams that win a game despite being -2 in turnovers? The percentage can't be very...
