Cowboys' sub packages to be stressed

Who doesn't have a dime package? I get that Bruce Carter's speed makes him like a 5th DB out there but still.

Jerry Jones disappointed but not angry:

    Neither does Garrett.

Jerry Jones disappointed but not angry:

Not true. Jerry is on the Competition Committee. Once he passes his new rule that one Super Bowl spot goes to the best team and the other goes to the most valuable franchise we will have at least a 5% chance of winning.

McMahon: Is DeMarco Murray another Julius Jones?

I think we may want to re-think the Fullback idea so that we have a true blocker there on obvious, short-yard or goal line situations. Hanna and Escobar don't seem to be blocking anyone. It's crazy to me that the Cowboys FO talks about these dedicated Special Teams only guys like Edgar Jones and...

McMahon: Is DeMarco Murray another Julius Jones?

As far as DeMarco goes, I think we just need better offensive minds. The guy, when healthy, was a weapon for Oklahoma's passing game. We should be screening the crap out of him and lining him up all over the place like we think we are doing with Gavin Escobar's slow ass.

McMahon: Is DeMarco Murray another Julius Jones?

Jerry is running out of other positions to draft. He'll have to draft a Guard soon, right?

Cowboys cut Cohen and Coale; Sign DT Carter and WR Newsome

Our 5th round picks since 2009: DeAngelo Smith CB Cincinnati - never made it to opening day, bounced around, out of the league Michael Hamlin S Clemson - first year on IR, cut early in next season, out of league David Buehler K USC - lasted 3 years, now out of league. Jerry kept him as Kickoff...

Cowboys cut Cohen and Coale; Sign DT Carter and WR Newsome

Coale was on the Practice Squad so which one of these guys is on the roster and which one is on the PS?

Cowboys cut Cohen and Coale; Sign DT Carter and WR Newsome

and the 2013 Jag Tour continues. Carter is decent though. I was surprised Arizona cut him loose. Cohen was worthless. Our obsession with ex Jaguars continues as well, Jamar Newsome. I remember when we drafted Danny Coale. It was theebs and my first spat. The memories. Awesome draft pick...

Jerry Jones disappointed but not angry:

I like Nick Saban. He's a super A Personality Type amongst A type personalities. The ultimate control freak. He is sitting on top of the world at Alabama with no end in sight so unless he gets bored, I don't see him leaving. Like Gruden, he will insist on total control when/if he takes an NFL...

Claiborne catching heat from the fans

Good point. I'm not one of the last of the Romo bandwagoners. I didn't just defend Bruce Carter a few posts ago. Tell you what, you stop bitching about every post I make and I'll lay off Jerry Jones.

Claiborne catching heat from the fans

Awww, Bob is sensitive. Yep, I talk about literally hundreds of college players and a lot of times they are from my school, USC. Taylor Mays, Chilo Rachal, and I'm sure others haven't lived up to the potential I thought I saw in them. I was alone in my thinking too. I mean, they were both...

Claiborne catching heat from the fans

3rd round pick on a small school player with 1 year experience at Safety. Almost the definition of trying to be cute. You are full of win today.

Claiborne catching heat from the fans

No, I didn't think you did. I think he is the one player who will benefit the most from the scheme change. The Front Office has to stop half-assing everything. If we want to be a 3-4, get a big nose takle. Don't be cute or pretend you are cutting edge by having the penetrating pass-rushing NT...

Claiborne catching heat from the fans

That play would have definitely won it but if we are depending on Bruce Carter to make an interception to win the game then we are in huge trouble. How about a front 7, hell front 8 if you count Church, who couldn't stop the obvious run at the end of the game?

Claiborne catching heat from the fans

I wasn't high on Brockers coming out but he's been pretty solid for the Rams. I would take Brockers and Wagner over Claiborne at this point and not even look back.

Claiborne catching heat from the fans

I think Carter is fine. The problem is just in front of him and just behind him. The Safeties can't cover their full zone responsibilities so Carter is spread thin. The Defensive Tackles can't do enough to beat one-on-one blocking so teams can use 300 poind Guards to block Carter.

Claiborne catching heat from the fans

I don't dislike Claiborne at all. I think he has the potential to be pretty solid. My problem was always trading 2 high picks to get him after we spent a ton of money on Carr, Scandrick, and still had Mike Jenkins going into a contract year. To me, Patrick Peterson was that special to make a...

Claiborne catching heat from the fans

Sell the farm for an "elite" cover corner and then next year, change to the one scheme least dependant on man-to-man cover skills. This is the life we have chosen. Highest grade since Deion? Maybe just maybe our grading system is wrong.
