Hoping we don’t draft a bunch of guys that are eager to tank EVER even if they someday become superstars.

I’m glad too it signals we may be drafting a QB

I’m pretty sure our “GM” wouldn’t have guaranteed him $4.2 million

I don’t see Rush as a scrub. He won’t take a team deep into the playoffs but by backup QB standards a team can do much worse.

If that’s the case Baltimore is paying a scrub six million a year for two years.

I guess we just have to agree to disagree. Just curious since players ability to reach incentive goals is unknown, does incentive money paid have any bearing on the salary cap?

I agree it’s peanuts to the organization but it’s not to the guy trying to earn it. Based on your argument why not pay him the $250k incentive since he was healthy, able to play and higher up on the depth chart?

I guess that works if one’s strategy is to sit the better player and tank the season for a slightly better draft pick.

It’s unclear to me if that incentive represented $250k or $500k but with an annual salary of $2.5 million it represented at least 10%

Sit him final regular season game to avoid paying him an incentive? Damn skippy that’s dirty at least in my mind it is.
