The 1992 NFC Champ Intro that Mid posted was the best ever, but this one ranks a close 2nd:

1977 was the first Super Bowl we won that I remember watching (we had lost 2yrs earlier to Pitt).

Summerall and Tom Brookshire did that game.

There were some great clips of Irvin in there.

I wish I had liked football and followed the team back then. I didn't start until 1994.

All of those CBS intro's were great.

Summerall, the CBS theme and the importance of the games will never be matched again.

I hope the cowboys memorialize him in some way in the stadium. He deserves it.

Some of those old bears-giants, redskins-cowboys, giants -redskins, 49ers-giants, cowboys games were larger than life. That is the back which the nfl was built on.

I love the intro to the 91 wild card game at Chicago.

Norm did a nice tribute to pat this morning.

Bill jones last night was fighting tears on the txa21 sports show, they reaired a 2004 interview with pat. I am uploading it right now.

I am going to watch some games from the 80s this week. Pat was just incredible.

Kind of a delayed reaction from Summerall. Harper ran with the ball for a few seconds before Pat called his name.

Summerall and Tom Brookshire did that game.

Yeah,Brookshier was Summerall's early partner on CBS as I recall.
Listening to the old broadcasts you kinda got the idea those two spent a lot of weekends partying together.
Summerall also hosted Aikman's talk show back in the day.
He'll be sorely missed.
Also fuck Joe Buck.
He can't even fill his daddy's shoes, much less Pat Summerall's.

He and Brookshire definitely did spend a lot of time partying... In fact someone on the radio yesterday said CBS intentionally split them up and introduced Madden because they realized what a bad influence Brookshire was on Pat.

And good vid, bb, I was looking for that earlier. (Looks like you just uploaded it yourself?) Saw where someone has put that whole game up, in quarters... Great stuff. Pat is very understated on the Harper play but he gets pretty excited with the "Touchdown!" when KMart scores a few plays later.

Rewatching the fourth quarter/overtime of this game. I had forgotten how bad Rodney Hampton was eating us alive late.

Then they get into OT, decided to pass on 2nd down... get penalized 15 yards for a chop block, run some gimmick reverse pass option on 2nd and long, Simms gets sacked on third down.... They probably could've just kept running Hampton straight down our throats with play action pass once or twice, and won that game. Our D was gassed there.

The Tom Brookshier story I remember is how he insulted a college basketball team (comprised of African American starters) on air by saying their IQs were below 50. Got himself into some really hot water, as he should have. It was a dumb thing to say.

I don't know where I read/heard it, but if memory serves, Jimmy Johnson liked Rodney Hampton a little more than Emmitt Smith in that draft.

Anyone else ever hear that?

never heard that. why trade up and take a lesser rated RB on your board?
