New haircuts for offensive linemen
August, 5, 2010

SAN ANTONIO -- Dez Bryant didn't know anything about any shoulder pads tradition.

When told of it, he said he understood but just wants to play football. He rebuffed wide receiver Roy E. Williams' request to carry his pads, setting off a national debate about hazing. Wade Phillips doesn't like it.

Wednesday night the offensive linemen made sure none of the young players forgot about NFL traditions or NFL-style hazing. Will Barker, Phil Costa, Sam Young and Mike Tepper, all rookie offensive linemen arrived to start special teams drills this morning with new haircuts.

As part of the offensive line tradition, veteran center Andre Gurode with a little help from Marc Colombo, shaved the heads, sometimes badly, of the young linemen.

Barker has a mushroom head, Young a Mohawk and Tepper got one side of his head shaved.

These are not good looks.
