An ankle injury has forced Dallas Cowboys offensive tackle Alex Barron to miss one exhibition game and the last 10 practices before Thursday. That goes against Barron's career pattern.

In five seasons with St. Louis , Barron never missed a game because of injury. He has played in 67 consecutive regular-season games, fifth-longest streak among NFL offensive linemen.

``You have to let your body do what it does,'' Barron said. ``But at the same time, I want to be back out there. I'm not here to watch.''

Three other Cowboys rank among the leaders at their positions for consecutive games played.

Jason Witten is fifth among tight ends with 107 consecutive games. Keith Brooking is second among linebackers with 96 consecutive games. Brooking is two spots ahead of Bradie James, who has 69 consecutive games.
