Consulted with my many league insiders last night. Expect this to happen on draft day.... not guessing.
First round: Jalen Ramsey, CB, FSU
We can't scout cornerbacks for shit. This has been the case for years, as we've whiffed continuously at the position for years. Outside of Terrance Newman (and really, a top 5 pick should be a no brainer) and Orlando Scandrick, who have we drafted or signed in free agency that has been worth a shit? As such, we're left spending another top 10 selection at the position.
We, the fans, of course want a QB and hope for either Goff or Lynch to be there. But they'll potentially both be gone and even if there, Jerry would likely try and trade down and land Ramsey or the UF corner a few picks later. After all, anyone can clearly see Romo has at least 5 years left. Amirite?
Relax guys... Jalen Ramsey is a solid prospect at either CB or safety, and what few flaws he has, coach Good for two wins Jerome Henderson will smooth out.
2nd round: Cardale Jones, QB, OSU
OMG did you guys see the year Cam Newton had? That big, black, athletic QB? Jerry Jones is a copy cat owner. He has no vision and no plan. Doesn't know how to build a team. But we'll make this move just like we reached for Quincy Carter after the Eagles had success with McNabb. Jones can ride the pine for a year or two while QB guru Wade Wilson will bestow his midas touch on Jones as he teaches him the nuances of the NFL game, as he has basically every other QB we've had on the roster.
