The panel did not overrule Goodell, but asked for clarification on the reasons for his discipline -- was it salary cap related or conduct detrimental -- according to league sources.

Sounds like the suspensions were put on hold, but not overturned.

Nice to see Goodell getting poked in the eye. He's gotten too big for his own pantaloons.

Agreed. It was only a matter of time until something like this happens, he set himself up for it by anointing himself as judge, jury, and executioner.

Agree completely on Goodell. I'm shocked that there appears to be a limit to his power. Not sure what the CBA says on the selection of the arbitration panel, but I doubt Goodell will agree to use these arbitrators again. Part of the reason I'm so surprised.

Yeah.

I think the panel's reaction clearly points out Goodell's sheer arrogance: Goodell suspended players without feeling a need to explain why.

That's a basic, fundamental error.
