Rookie safety Akwasi Owusu-Ansah will be used on kickoff and punt returns in Saturday's exhibition game at San Diego, Dallas Cowboys coach Wade Phillips said today.
``We need to get a look at him,'' Phillips siad.
Owusu-Ansah missed all off-season work and the first 10 days of training camp while recovering from shoulder surgery. He has not yet appeared in a game but has practiced well. According to Phillips, Owusu-Ansah has shown the speed the club expected of him and has also been a physical player.
In four seasons at Indiana, Pa., University, an NCAA Division-II school,, had seven kick returns for touchdowns. He averaged 25.9 yards with three touchdowns on 53 kickoff returns and averaged 11.3 yards with four touchdowns on 70 punt returns.
