Jerry Jones wasn't buying the "tired team" line after Saturday's loss to Houston but he didn't sound too concerned with what happened on the field.

"It's rested," Jones said. "The team is very rested. This past week we had a very light week. Our team, our legs, we had great weather out there and tried to back off. So we have a good rested group."

The Cowboys were the first team to open training camp and the last one to break it after spending time in San Antonio, Arlington and Oxnard, Calif., while also flying to Canton, Ohio, for the first preseason game.

"In my mind we had a very productive preseason," Jones said. "We got a lot of work done. Need to go back and see what we can do differently in all areas."

Jones was more interested in crediting the Texans than wondering if his team has so many holes.

"We knew they were a good team and we've just got to play better," Jones said. "Hopefully we'll get even in the regular season."

The Cowboys will get their chance on Sept. 26.
