David Buehler won't win over skeptics until he begins to drill field goals during the regular season.

Buehler understands. But converting six of seven field goal attempts in his first two preseason games has him pointed in the right direction.

"I feel like I've transitioned night and day from where I was last year," Buehler said. "I wasn't that confident in my field goals and was kind of all over the place.

"Now I'm consistent and getting in a nice little groove, and my confidence is more than it's ever been right now."

That confidence is not limited to field goals. Remember, Buehler was drafted as a kickoff specialist and had 29 touchbacks as a rookie.

"My goal is to lead the NFL again and beat my mark of 29," Buehler said. "The way I'm hitting the ball these days, I should blow that out of the water."

Phillips said Buehler has, "looked awfully good. And this last game, I thought he really hit the ball well."

I hope he get's it because I'd rather have the extra roster spot.
